Abstract: the article is devoted to the problem of implementing the principle of “basic interests of China” in the international arena from the standpoint of historical analysis and the state of modern international relations in the “East-West” paradigm in the XXI century. The research methodology includes a general scientific group of methods (analysis, synthesis, deduction and induction), as well as a group of special methods, including the method of statistical analysis, content analysis of scientific literature, as well as the scenario forecasting method. The author of the article comes to the conclusion that in a state of ideological and economic war, China and the United States will have to revise their national interests in the system of international relations.
