Abstract: there are different views on the revival of interest in the spiritual heritage of Seraphim of Sarov, the history of the Sarov Holy Dormition monastery, and the associated Arzamas-16. This article shows in depth the specifics of places and almost unknown stages of regional local history. It reflects the fate of the ancient library, which includes a huge layer of the evolution of Russian culture in its patient expectation of historical and spiritual insights.
The monastic library kept many personal collections, being at the junction of the provinces of Tambov, Nizhny Novgorod and Penza. The archive contains a triad of explosive secrets of thinkers not understood by contemporaries, the healing power of primordial spirituality, and the reserved energy of water sources. The Fund collected confessional paintings of churches, lists of monks with their names at tonsure, and documents of surrounding landowners.
The article presents independent results of creative author’s work, inalienable results of public and lawful execution of local history search materials. Simultaneously with their publication, a wide audience of residents of Sarov was shown photos found with views of works of architecture, urban planning, with household sketches of episodes from the life of the monastery and the surrounding population.
The purpose of the study is to analyze the movement of the monastery Fund and its state in real time as a little-studied page of history, to identify mistakes and errors of the past. Today, the Fund is partially housed in the Central State Archive of the Republic of Mordovia.
