CAUSES AND CONSEQUENCES OF THE FALL ACCORDING TO BIBLICAL SOURCES AND VIEWS OF CHRISTIAN AUTHORS

Abstract: on the basis of the biblical narrative and the literary heritage of Christian authors, the article considers the main circumstances and factors (external and internal) of the fall of Adam and Eve, which was expressed in violation of the commandment not to eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge. Before this, the initial state of their spiritual and bodily nature, which is not subject to sin, and the tasks facing them are displayed. In a selection of opinions and statements of these writers the motivation is analyzed that accompanies the first people and served as a prerequisite for the fall and its connection with the impact of the surrounding demonic forces. The etymological analysis of the words “serpent” and “Elohim” is made in the same perspective. Gender differences reflected in behavior and reaction to the events are presented. The focus of the study is particularly detailed and carefully analyzed the influence of prayer on man in the context of the act of the fall. The article presents the impact on the spiritual and physical nature of Adam and Eve, which had the process of direct consumption of the forbidden fruit, both at the same time, and reflected in the distant future personally for them and their offspring.
