SPRING FESTIVAL AS A REFLECTION OF THE CHINESE NATIONAL CHARACTER

Abstract: traditions are an integral part of the culture of any nation, and their study helps to understand and feel the character of a nation from within. The main factors that influenced the development of national psychology and traditions are the natural and culturological (religious teachings). Сonsidering various theories regarding the origins of the celebration of the Spring Festival (the theory of sacrifices at the end of the year, the theory of magic and the theory of the feast of remembrance of the ancestors), the author of the article highlights the main customs of this great and magnificent Chinese festival whose history spans from four to five thousand years. As a result of a study of the customs of the celebration of the Chinese New Year, we can confidently say that, reflecting respect for the myths and beliefs preserved in Chinese society, as well as being an integral part of national psychology, they influenced the formation of such values in the character of the Chinese as family attachment , respect for ancestors, sons respect, honesty, a sense of duty, the ability to enjoy life, endurance, peace of mind.
