SOME APPROACHES TO THE STUDY OF THE USSR’ MILITARY ECONOMY IN THE SOVIET AND RUSSIAN NATIONAL HISTORIOGRAPHY

Abstract: the article as a whole completes the systematization of approaches to the study of the military economy of the USSR in Soviet historiography.

The purpose of the research was to identify some of the most basic approaches, assessments and opinions on the Soviet economy during the Great Patriotic War in our historiography.

The historiography of the military economy is attracting the attention of a growing number of specialists today, and, we think, it is relevant now, in connection with the tense geopolitical situation around Russia. It is possible that the domestic defense-industrial complex (DIC) will regain its old true name and purpose, that is, the military-industrial complex (MIC).

The practical use of knowledge on the organization of the military economy and the study of the experience of the organizers of the military economy in the USSR will make it possible to build a military economy in our country quickly and efficiently, if necessary. Moreover, it is desirable to use foreign experience.

We think that a detailed examination of this topic and an appeal to this problematic is not fictitious, but, rather, on the contrary, a matter of vital importance for us, which has both theoretical, scientific, cognitive, and practical interest.

Keywords: domestic historiography of the military economy, stages of development, the Soviet military economy, factors of victory
